Stacking the Shelves

I have switched from the meme In My Mailbox to Stacking the Shelves (hosted by Tynga's Reviews) because it just wasn't a right fit for me. Stacking the Shelves looks much more promising to me and I'm excited to now be apart of this epic meme!

Now, don't laugh, but this week I borrowed Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (along with another book!) from the library. I'm going to do a specific post soon which will explain why I chose to rent Twilight, but for now, just understand that I had my reasons and know that no this is not my first time reading Twilight. I think everyone on the face of the planet (who enjoys reading) has read Twilight by now. Except of course for those young'uns who are only now getting to be old enough to read "more advanced" texts such as Twilight. So please don't judge me for my choice... like I said, all will be explained shortly :) The other book I rented was a VERY exciting find for me so if anything, just go straight to looking at that one! That book is The Impossibility of Tomorrow by Avery Williams. I also received a copy of Candy and the Cankersaur by Jason Sandberg from the author for reviewing purposes. I have already read and reviewed it and that post can be found HERE!

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn.

Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear.

The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------This is the sweet and funny tale of a young girl named Candy and a Cankersaurus Rex! Candy receives a dinosaur as a gift and is determined to train him to be a good pet.

The immortal Seraphina is forced to face the darkness of her past—and risk losing the love of her life—in this second novel in the Incarnation series.

Seraphina has been living for centuries, thanks to a special method of alchemy, but only recently has she really felt alive. She’s finally broken free from her controlling boyfriend, Cyrus, and after years of swapping bodies to preserve her immortality, is happily settled into a life worth sticking with. Because in this life, she has Noah.

But Noah might not be as trustworthy as he seems. After he delivers an ominous message that could only come from Cyrus, Sera is worried that her new friends and family will find out her secret. And as her suspicions extend beyond Noah, Sera is forced to wonder about her new friends as well: Could her old coven be disguising themselves right under her nose?

Will Sera have to move to another body—and take another life—or can she find a way to keep what she’s got, forever?

The reason that I am so ridiculously excited to have found The Impossibility of Tomorrow is because I am almost finished with The Alchemy of Forever which is the first book in the Incarnation Series (obviously The Impossibility of Tomorrow being the second in the series). I am so in love with this series and I tried finding the sequel in stores but for some reason none of them were receiving this book; I could only get it online (which isn't a problem - it's cheaper that way for me - I just prefer to pick out my copy of books). So I printed my coupon and decided to pick up Twilight at the library (because I left my copy back home in MN) and was then going to head over to BN just to double check before buying it online. Well what to my eyes appeared but a brand new copy of The Impossibility of Tomorrow sitting right there on the library shelf. I don't know how they got it so quickly when it just came out in June but I was ecstatic! I'm finishing the first book tonight and I intend on starting the second one immediately. I will most definitely buy this book sometime in the future, but I love having sequels right there when you finish a new book so that you don't have to wait in agony after those awful cliffhangers inevitably occur.

What books are now in your hands this week??
