Top Ten Books I Wish Could Have Had Sequels
1. Enchanted Ivy by Sarah Beth Durst
2. Ripple by Mandy Hubbard
3. The Vampire Stalker by Allison van Diepen
4. The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
5. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
6. Zel by Donna Jo Napoli
7. The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray by Chris Wooding
8. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
9. The Last Book in the Universe by Rodman Philbrick
10. Nightlight by The Harvard Lampoon
I hate it when you fall in love with characters and a world but then the story ends. Such a bittersweet feeling... I loved these 10 books and I still hope that maybe one day I will get a taste of these worlds again through means of some sort of a sequel though I realize that that will probably never happen. *sigh* such is the life of an avid reader, am I right? Do you have this problem, too?

Great picks! I've been wanting to read Ripple for a while. It sounds like something I'd really enjoy. Welcome to the book blogging community by the way! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! Ripple really is fantastic, too. I highly recommend it. It's very realistic yet magical and such a quick read. I really wish it had been longer.
DeleteI felt that way about Memoirs of a Geisha too! It's like ugh, I wish we could have had that love story not come to a head so close to the end. I need to read that again!

Right? I love that book and I hated that it sort of concluded so abruptly... I found out recently that the guy who wrote it exaggerated a bunch of it and so in response to the book the geisha wrote the real story which I have been trying to find. It's sad that the guy would change her story after supposedly being such good friends with her.
DeleteI'm sad to say I haven't read any of those, but The Near Witch is definitely on my TBR list. You stopped by my blog a while ago and asked which Sarah Dessen books to pick up. I would definitely read This Lullaby and The Truth About Forever (unless that's the one you read and hated). Start there and you will want to read her other stuff!
ReplyDeleteThat was not that one I read so you're all good. Thank you so much!! I'll give those a shot and hopefully I can see what everyone's been talking about. Thanks for the help :)
